Fishing Reports

To all the GrandFishingReport.com website viewers who have loyally followed the website for many, many years, this message is for you. We created a new Facebook group called GrandFishingReport.com. Anyone can join and participate. The “group feed” will now post to the “fishing report” page. We did this so we could get a lot more participation from Angler’s that fish the lake, and are already active on Facebook.

The fishing guides will also be posting in this “group feed”. At some point we will have two streams running at the same time, both on the same page. One column will be from fishing guides only, one from Angler’s that fish Grand.

In less than a week we’ve added many members to the new Facebook “GrandFishingReport.com group”. There will be a lot more traffic and reports since we incorporated the Facebook group. This will defiantly will be exciting for all of us to see!

So, you are welcome to join our group on Facebook or just keep looking at the GrandFishingReport.com website under reports. I know it’s quite a change, but one that many will enjoy. The angler participation has already been terrific.

Fishing The Lake ???
FYI : You may fish any Dock area by Boat as long as you don't Tie up or get on the Dock... GRDA and the State Of Oklahoma Owns ALL The Water and land up to a certain Lake Elevation which is some where between 750- 755 feet ,,, Be sure to check the Property Survey.... Don't let any Dock or Land Owner Fool You and say,, You cant fish in or By my Dock or Hunt here.. If they do this,,and Harasses you, they are violating NREPA Law Sec 48702a (MSA 324.48702a).. If someone does this,,,They can be a sighted for harassment and get 93 days Prison and up to a Fine of $500- $1000 Dollars.. See Sec 324.45301 and 45302. Please read the Entire Law, and ask GRDA if you have Questions.... Having Waterfront Property, a Marina, or Boat Dock / Slip is a PRIVILEGE allowed by GRDA and the State. Thats Why you Must Register your Dock Annually ( its a Privilege)...
Lets All be Respectable to One an Other on what God has Given ALL of us to Share and Enjoy , as Long as we Follow the Law and Respect each Others Rights. Hope this HELPED!!

James AustinThe spoon bill wouldn't show up on down scan? But there was big marks on graph? Every where we went that graph screen was blacked out 25 to 40 foot deep. Should we be worried the boat is a ranger and we have the transducer mounted up under the step down by the drain plug. We have never been down there by sail boat this time of year so I thought it interference. So we don't need to be worried.

Had a great afternoon on the water today! I had to change up techniques a couple time with the clouds and then the sun and then back to cloudy skies. Most the time were hanging tight to cover and I was vertical jigging them. I caught crappie in 34’ of water and 15’ water. I love to feel the thump! Hello Reporters!

If you post a pic or report please try to include:
1) lake area (examples- elk river arm, horse creek, below dam)
2) color and type of bait (examples - shad, Minnows or chartreuse go go minnow)
3) depth fish were caught
4) method used to catch fish (examples - cast with slow retrieve or drift fishing or maybe caught on dock fishing casting in boat slips)
5) keep posts very current. Nothing past a couple days old.

Amazingly, we’re up to 1700 + reporting members now and we have to keep this group focused on current reports with good information. We have had some truly amazing report posts in the last few weeks and I encourage everyone to read those in-depth reports and try to follow their examples. Members can also ask questions about fishing at the lake, but fishing reports is why I created the group and why we’re all here.

As admin I don’t want to have use the “approve all posts” group option before anyone can see another members post. Unfortunately, I might have to if we continue to get pics without information, off topic spam and old news. Please only post current fishing report information.

1700 + reporters should provide an amazing amount of current information once everyone understands how and what to post!

Thanks!

The blue catfish bite was slow, but steady this weekend. We were fishing for big fish only using large baits. We fished on anchor 12-26ft using 8/0 Double Action hooks on float rigs and bottom rigs. Both produced fish. We also dragged baits at .5mph and caught a a few. The bite finicky and on anchor worked better for us. The fish we found seemed to be hanging out in the 20-26ft range and moving up on the ledge to feed. Water temps on in the mid 60's now.

The Floating Fish Grips saved us...someone(me) left the net in the truck. Thanks Jeff for great products.

NEW MEMBERS AND VISITORS PLEASE READ.

I am going to keep this group feed strictly on Grand Lake Fishing Reports. There are many other groups and forums that discuss general fishing topics. Your post will be removed if it doesn't contain current fishing report information regarding Grand Lake, it's rivers or below the dam.

No reports past a couple days old.

On a side note, I will also allow Spavinaw and Eucha Lake info because those small lakes run into the Grand River below the Grand Lake Dam and many Grand Lakers will fish and report on them too. For those not familiar with the Grand Lake area please see the Grand Lake area map.

A big thanks to Nelson Watson, Trent McCord, and several others who commented to help put us on some fish this evening. We started out floating around the little Island north of Governors that was recommended but nothing seemed to be going on there we could see a few Boats off in the distance to the South so we fired up and drove over that way. We got over there by Governors Island and there was over a dozen boats floating around there wasn't much going on at first but just as it was getting dark they really turned on and we caught a dozen or so really quick. I do not have lights set up on my boat so we had to leave the fish biting and head for the ramp. This young man was pumped out of his mind as he reeled several white bass in one right after another. Thank you all for helping me make his night one that he will never forget! ... See MoreSee Less
